Concepts Upcoming Nike Air Max 1 Is A Blast From The Past

Nike and Concepts are joining forces to reimagine the Nike Air Max 1. Departing from their usual Nike SB or Kyrie collabs, the upcoming project will mark the first time the two brands have done an Air Max 1, and early signs are pointing to it being legendary.

Taking the kitchen sink approach, the upper of the Concepts x Nike AM 1 combines washed denim, two-toned paisley printed canvas, abstract tribal print and even giraffe print Bovine fur. Hints of corduroy surround the sneaker's aqua blue eyestays and carry over a red corduroy lined sockliner. Moving on down the silhouette is a rubber sail speckled upper equipped with an Air Unit juxtaposed by a tan outsole. Branding is on full display on the tag that sits atop the red crushed velvet tongue, flower power Nike Check, and unfinished Nike Air sewn into the sneaker's heel tab. A Concepts branded guitar pick hangtag and special co-branded packaging put the finishing touches on this over-the-top Air Max 1 collaboration.

UPDATE 03/01/22: Concepts has announced an official release date for their Nike Air Max 1 "Mellow." Its set to drop on March 5th, 2022 exclusively through Concepts.

UPDATE 01/23/22: Yet another colorway of the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 has been teased by Concept's General Manager, Deon Point.

UPDATE 01/17/22: A second Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 has surfaced. Unlike the previous iteration, paisley is less omnipresent on this pair and is replacing it with a camouflage pattern. The sneaker will arrive in special packaging and feature the same Concepts branded guitar pick hangtag seen on the previous pair, only this time the pick is reflective silver. No release date has been set, but both pairs are expected to release soon.
